I've been thinking a lot about 'home' lately. What makes a good home?  A happy home?  A peaceful home?  A loving home?  Does home size matter?  Does having the latest gadgets, toys, furniture etc. matter? What kind of home am I creating?? Do people feel happy when they visit my home?

FREE! LDS Youth 2017 Print + Coordinating YW Theme Poster

I'm so excited for this year's theme! It just seems like the right theme for this year- ASK!

Last year we would recite the YW theme AND the 2016 theme scripture (2 Nephi 31:20 Press Forward..)  during our opening exercises.We plan to do that again this year. I made these prints to hang at the front of our classroom to help us memorize the 2017 theme.

I printed the 8x10 scripture print at Costco but any photo center will work! I printed the 18x24 poster on glossy photo paper at Alphagraphics, but any FED EX/Kinkos, Staples, copy supply store should also be able to print it! 

I've also made the Scripture Print in 4x6 as well, perfect for passing out to each individual girl!

Hip Hip Hooray! It's Your Birthday!

My friend told me about a birthday gift idea her ward used for birthdays in Young Women. 

I found these little printouts on Little LDS Ideas. 

I wanted to print 4 to a page, though and get the most bang for my buck. 

So I decided to design my own!

Download the 8.5x11 PDF print here. It has 4 'cards' to a page.

I recommend printing this on  glossy cardstock. You need a paper thick enough to support the weight of the lip balm. I used my Fiskars paper slicer to cut my cards out. I also suggest using a 1.5 inch circle hole punch to make the hole for the lip balm. I bought mine from Hobby Lobby for only $4.99. You can also just cut a hole out with scissors. 

To attach the lip balm to the card,  open up the lip balm, put the paper in between the lid and balm (it will fit right through the hole you punched out), and then screw the lid shut. Easy peasy. 

Light the World

This Christmas season, my family and I are going to try a little harder to remember our Savior by serving others and in doing so "Light the World".  I've made this little print that is the perfect size  for a business card magnet to stick on the fridge. That is the one place I know every member of the family consistently looks- multiple times a day in fact :)

We plan to watch each day's message every morning before school and work.  Sounds easier that it really is! Our kids slept in today and it didn't happen like I hoped. We pulled up to school right as the bell was ringing. But we won't give up!

It is sized at 2 x 3.5 inches, which is perfect for business card magnets. You can buy them online or at any office supply store. You can also just glue it to the top of any old business card magnet you already have on your fridge. These would be great to us for visiting teaching gifts, young women gifts (great for lockers!) or anything else you can think of. How will you use yours?

 Oh how I love this time of year! Several of my neighbors have began to hang their Christmas lights. Even though it has been warm & sunny weather here in Utah, I am definitely catching the Christmas spirit!!  I designed these as a way to thank all of your for following me along on this blog, facebook, Instagram, pinterest etc.  I started this blog to add a little light and goodness to the internet. No problem is too small...

One of my favorite scriptures is Alma 37:37.

Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

This quote just reminded me of  how powerful prayer is and how we really should pray about any problem we have- small or large.
